Hello everyone who is reading this! If you are new here, my name is Kathryn and I am a wedding florist/ gardener in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area!
I wanted to put together a blog post highlighting different types of flowers that I personally like to use in weddings based on the season. Feel free to check out these blog posts to get a more in-depth ideas of seasonality:
- 5 Best Seasonal Flowers That We Grow at Beautifully Bloomed (SPRING)
- 5 Best Seasonal Flowers That We Grow Here at Beautifully Bloomed (SUMMER)
- 5 Best Seasonal Flowers That We Grow Here at Beautifully Bloomed (FALL)
– but for now, let’s roll!
I liked to look at flowers via 3 categories: focal, filler and flutter.
Focal means flowers that will take up space. They normally are larger in size, price, and show. Fillers are the types of flowers that fill an arrangement. This could include greenery but they are mostly flowers that help transition colors and shapes/ sizes. Flutter flowers are my favorite. They “flutter” around the arrangement. So normally they stick out a bit and are the ones that (in my opinion) best reflect a garden. Below are some of my favorites in each category!
