Hey all! Kathryn, lead floral designer at Beautifully Bloomed here!
Even if you are not booking myself, I wanted to highlight 3 questions you should ask your wedding florist before you book.
- What is your booking process? Most wedding professionals will have a certain booking process. Ask them how long to they have to book, what is the deposit, what the refund process looks like. Ask them if there are any others inquiring about their wedding date. I think these questions are great to ask even before you meet with them. You would hate to get into a situation where one of their concrete pillars does not work with what you and your significant other need.
- What are your back-ups? This is a great question to ask during the meeting. A florist can promise all the flowers in the world (for the right price), but what happens when things go wrong? What would they do if COVID happened? Or a derecho? All of these back-ups should be something that you feel confident with them before you book!
- Who will be designing/ setting up my wedding? My FAVORITE question! Typically I would ask this is an email after you meet but still before you book. Most florists send a vision board that they create after the meeting. This way you can see what they are planning on creating before they actually design. While you are drooling over their design board, make sure you ask WHO will be designing. There might be a main designer but plenty of assistants and just ask them who will be directly working with them. Then ask again – who will be setting up their wedding? Will it be a main designer or an assistant? If you haven’t been directly working with the assistant… then do you want them setting up your wedding?
Again – there are plenty of other questions you should ask your florist before you book, but these are my 3 favorites!
Any other questions?
Let me know!
