Hello all! Kathryn here! I am a local wedding florist in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
I am NOT a wedding planner. Of course, I want to help my clients plan their wedding, but I do not claim to be a professional wedding planner. In today’s blog post I want to outline the next 3 steps to take after you book a planner.
- Gather all materials needed for your wedding. I am sure your wedding planner has already asked for design materials or the inspirational photos, but in case they haven’t and will soon, make sure you gather those materials. Invite them to all of your Pinterest boards, google docs, etc. If you order samples of your colors, send those over via email!
- Reach out to all wedding vendors. Depending on who you have booked, check with your wedding planner on their preferred vendors or reach out on your own to vendors. I recommend reaching out to the vendors who book up fast. first. In my experience, photographers, florists, and Djs book pretty fast. Find those who are your favorite and reach out asap.
- Create a timeline for your planner. Once you book you vendors, most of them will have mini-timelines to keep track of. I would take all of those timelines and compile them into one giant spreadsheet to give to your wedding planner. This will help keep your planner on track with all your individual dates to keep in mind.
Again, there are other next steps, but these are the ones that I would recognize next.
Let me know if you have any questions!
