Hello all! Kathryn the wedding florist here!
I wanted to write a quick blog post about what to do when you book a wedding florist. If you book me as a florist, I will walk you through this process, but if you book another florist and they do not have clear “next steps,” these are the top 3.
- Add to your design portfolio. Depending on your wedding florist, you might have a design board/ mood board. If your wedding florist did not send one to you… maybe that is something you should start. Start collecting photos/ color palettes and put them somewhere safe. If your florist DID make something for you, start adding other pictures to that portfolio so when you meet again, you are ready.
- Add the timeline dates to your calendar. Hopefully your florist gave you a rough estimate of when you all will meet again. Most florists I know want to meet about 30 – 45 days before your wedding. Put that into your calendar so you do not forget.
- Follow your florist on Instagram. Now, not every florist has an Instagram. The reason I saw you should follow them is to keep up with their design styles and advice. Maybe they say something that solves a problem of yours that you didn’t even know you had on the gram? Maybe they are working with a photographer that you love. Who knows, but following them on socials is helpful.
Hopefully this helps you after you book your wedding florist.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
-Kathryn
