Hey hey! Kathryn the wedding florist/ farmer here!
I have had lots of couples reach out to me and ask for resources on how to plan their wedding. Some have asked for inspiration or just a basic wedding books filled with information on how to plan a wedding. Well – this blog post hopefully will answer that specific question!
In my opinion the 3 best books for planning a wedding are the following:
- The Knot Ultimate Wedding Planner & Organizer [binder edition]: Worksheets, Checklists, Etiquette, Calendars, and Answers to Frequently Asked Questions. If you are open to purchasing this book, I recommend getting the bidder edition where you can write and add things to the physical copy. This book is filled with not only valuable tips but also common questions, timelines, and other things that you didn’t anticipate while planning your wedding. I linked the book above, so check it out!
- A Practical Wedding Planner: A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating the Wedding You Want with the Budget You’ve Got (without Losing Your Mind in the Process). I have also had many brides mention that this book is also a great resource on how to budget during your wedding. Of course, budgeting can be hard. Where should you add funds or take them away? Hopefully this book gives you great insight on planning and saving.
- Heartland Wedding Magazine. This last option I would use as a guide/ inspo. Of course, remember that most of the vendors listed pay to be in these magazines, but I do think they offer a wide variety of attainable weddings here in Iowa. I would recommend other bridal magazines across the US, but let’s be real – not all of us are able to spend $100 k on just our wedding. The Hartland only showcases weddings found here in Iowa.
Hopefully one of these options will help you plan your wedding!
Let me know if you have any other questions.
