Writing this the day of. Aren’t you so proud? I am.
Today’s #sermonsunday is actually brought to you by Orchard Hill Church out of Cedar Falls, IA.
We ended up going to Orchard Hill in Cedar Falls, because of two reasons.
- The first being it is my birthday this week and my favorite restaurant is actually in Cedar Falls (Sakura – sooo good)
- The second is my sister-in-law is up in CF and is looking for a church home, so we checked it out together!
The sermon series was all about how is “God’s Kingdom” important for us in the now?
It is easy to think that God’s Kingdom will be wonderful when he comes back or when we pass and enter into eternity with him, but we are instructed to live with God here in the now.
1 Corinthians 3:16 – Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
How does that affect us now? Well, if you have accepting Jesus into your heart, you have that same power that raised him from the dead dwelling within you. Do you really understand that? I know I do not.
I personally get really shook up by things that are happening in this world. I feel despair for our world and the problems we have created. I don’t think God is asking us to neglect those feelings – or not do anything about it, but rejoice in the fact that God dwells with us and one day he will make all things new. One day there will be no more crying. There will be no more racism, nor more pain.
If you need someone to talk you through what that means to have the Holy Spirit in your life, feel free to reach out to me. I may not know all of the answers – but I know someone who you can talk to 😉
